bike tale

I spent (high)way too much time on my (any) exercise bike(s). I've read there maybe 25% of all books (I am book freak). I've studied there, telephoned, relax, panic, almost cried and I have allways pretty wise reasons why it is actually "healthier and safer" than riding normal bike. You know mum, here I won't get cold or pneumonia, I won't being hit by car, I won't ride it in dark blahblah it is really safe, you should be happy I am so responsible. Let's not talk about the fact I am XX kg underweight and the risk of arythmia, infection whatever is much bigger than being hit by car. I was riding my "outside" bike as well, but allways it was exercise. Tachometer. Calories. Hills. Sweat.
In B City, I actually use my bike as transporter for the first time. For the first time I use it to get somewhere. The way to two of my campuses is not long, it is flat and kind of bike friendly. Oh and it is real, not only on display. I can' t plan the weather- sometimes the wind in my back is helping me, sometimes it is against me. Sometimes I "catch" the red wave and constantly stop on each traffic lamp. Sometimes there is kindergarden trip and I don' t want to kill them. Life is unpredictable. I hate it and love it at the same time.
I am still afraid about lack of exercise, because I know that these XX km I ride to school are just a 1/X of my indoor cycling and after winter' s real outbreak I may have to go by bus, but - I like it. I like the texture of the streets, I like the river and canals, I like another biker fellows all around.
I wish my life goes somewhere, has a reason - I don' t want to stay stationary and nowheregoing like my (ex)bike.

PS days are still so new, so long, bit cold and kind of survival, but I think I need time to settle a bit.
I think I start to get the reason of big breakfasts in Berlin. Everything is somehow bigger here- distances, loads of work, hearts and time.
Oh and I've bought (and eaten:) peanut butter after ages. I liked it! Next challenge is one specific type o chocolate I used to eat as kid:)

  1. Good job on the PB. I never liked that myself. I like penuts and love butter but just never liked the tast of pb.

Are you overexercising? Are you doing it to be healthy or because you feel you need to? If you miss do you feel bad about yourself and eat less? These are the kinds of questions you need to ask yourself. Maybe try and cut back till you put on XX kg. At least on the indoor bike. It sounds like you get a lot out of biking outdoors so I wouldn't want you to stop that, the people, the wind, the feel. That's healthy stuff there.

Good luck with the big breakfast's you will get there. I had 2 eggs and a slice of toast yesterday. Very filling.
