Prague Summer

5 days of surgery intership, my cousin's graduation (I can't believe this tiny boy whom I and my sisters locked on the balcony and gave him only bread and water instead of babysitting him is almost 2 meters tall and about to start university!), my dad's birthday and very dramatic elections (yeah, I can poll in 3 countries and I do it:)- hard Prague week is over and now I am finishing preparation for Monday's speech full of weird receptors and neurotransmitters. I hope my class and my Professor won't find it too weird.

I am confused about ED stuff. I didn't have time for nutritionist appointment, I don't have any "official" meal plan right now so that I eat far too much sometimes and I couldn't make myself eat when I was stressed during my surgery rotations. I still don't know what is normal, what is being hungry, what is "physiologic" fatigue and what is "ED" fatigue, what is right and what is not.

Better part: summer is coming and next week Anne is coming to Berlin and I can't wait for our midnight discussions about science (of life), writing little poems, watching Emergency Room (and loving Doctor Carter) and planning our summer volunteering trip.

  1. Have you met Dr. Kovatch yet? He's even yummier than Dr. Carter.

  2. I think "normal" is so hard to find and to define. Plus, it truly is subjective too. But, as you recover and become more aware, you'll realize what is normal for you.

Glad you have something to look forward to next weekend and yeah to ER.

  3. Ooooh I was addicted to ER for so many years. Although I am a Clooney devotee all the way. ;)

Normal is indeed slippery. And I DEFINITELY know what you mean about having a hard time telling the difference between "regular" fatigue and that from the ED. Although you know that the ED will certainly never help with the former or the latter.

Are you sure you don't have time for an nutritionist right now, maybe even just a couple of times a month? Or one that you could see once a month or so and check in with via e-mail in between appointments?

Take care and try to keep yourself in balance, you are doing some amazing things with your life and will be your best and brightest when you're honoring your body. I know you've worked SO hard and have a ton to be proud of, keep swimming!

  5. Thanks for your comments!*

Lisa: I think Kovatch was my sister's favorite:)

Tiptoe: I wish. But sometimes it seems my normality is somewhere far away on the horizont... I hope your weekend will be better than last one (althoug I think you're so brave with this match thing. I would explode from panic).

Cammy: My nutritionist is in Prague (where I have regular insurance), so that it is bit difficult. I will probably have to find someone in Berlin- it is probably not yet time for being absolutely on my own with meal planning.
